While on the one hand people should have the freedom to enjoy the fun and excitement offered by games of chance, on the other hand, it is crucial to recognise and prevent the risk of developing problem behaviour or addictions.
It should inspire industry stakeholders to adopt an ethical approach that puts players’ wellbeing first. In this way, we can build a world in which safer gambling is a fun pastime, but not a destructive downward spiral for those who get caught up in it.
The Culture of Responsible Gambling in Italy
The research serves as a starting point to define the concrete actions necessary to promote the culture of Responsible Gambling in Italy. It begins with the need to understand the current gaps in these topics and how, by working together with operators, institutions, and other stakeholders, we can bridge them to place Responsible Gambling at the center of changes in the sector.
